Welcome to Tryfel Stud website. This
is our update that covers 2006 show season and our foals for 2007.
We had a great show season but with everything good comes something bad
and unfortunately ours happened before Christmas 2006. We had Sprig
put to sleep, this was a sad time for all of us. He's left a big gap in our hearts and
at our stud. We hope you enjoy looking at our updates.

We
are a small stud breeding Welsh Mountain Ponies. We purchased Ty'r Capel Sprig
in 1987 from Mostyn Isaac. Sprig was our Stallion for many
years leaving us some fabulous stock over the last 19 years.
Sprig won many prizes in both youngstock classes and as a stallion
but it is his stock that proved who he was. Sprig won the
overall sire rating Stallion at the Royal Welsh in 2004 and this was
a real highlight for us as a small stud. We also purchased Ty'r Capel Sara two years later and from FairOaks
sale Vaynor Perpetual. These three ponies had been the
backbone of our stud for nearly 20 years.

At Glanusk Open day 2006
Bridie won the younghandlers section winning The Windswept Trophy
which was kindly donated in the memory of the late Emrys Griffiths
and Dinah Griffiths of the Revel Stud. Michael was not left
out of the day as he was asked to give a demonstration to the
younghandlers with commentary from Mr. Ifor Lloyd.

We
are normally known for our Welsh Mountain Ponies but this year we
have something different. We have our first section
"C" foal. This is Monaray May Queen with her colt
foal Tryfel Prince Charming.

We
also have Welsh Mountain Pony foals this year. This is Bethan
with her colt foal Carlos. Bethan was made into a film star
last year when we were asked to take her to the Boomerang studios in
Cardiff. There she was photographed and filmed and now you can
see her on the billboards at the Royal Welsh showground and also in
the titles for the coverage for the Royal Welsh and Winter Fair.

We had a great show season in 2006
and also now at the beginning of 2007. The highs for 2006 was
winning the Royal Welsh with Veronica Laytons Parvadean Denise and
winning Veronica a Gold medal. For our own ponies Bethan winning
a Bronze medal. We also showed Dion who was 2nd at the
Rhydespence final in Shewsbury. Michael also had a very good season with his ponies Dynamite winning both a Bronze and Silver
medal. Monaray May Queen, his Section C mare also winning Bronze
and Silver medals and also 2nd at the Royal Welsh. Bridie has also
gained in confidence and experience under saddle with her pony
Arrow winning performance medals again in 2006.
